Today I was sitting in my orthodontist's office, where I waited for an hour, due to the staff there forgetting me, but while I waited, I noticed something and it shocked me so much that the first thing I thought of was saying what it was on DA. What I saw might not be noticed by most people or deemed insignificant by others, but I thought it was a genuine tragedy. On the seats across from me a mother sat with her young daughter beside her, but they didn't talk. The mother just sat there, with her laptop on her lap, and one of those wireless internet sticks in her laptop typing away and ignoring her daughter. It pissed me off how we let technology get in the way of things that actually matter like relationships with people, especially with people that should be important to you. Now this might be an isolated incident or a one time thing, but still, if that girl groes up feeling isolated and unwanted because her mom likes her computer more than her daugher, that would be a tragedy.
